Louise to attend Song Summit 2012

Louise has been selected to attend the Song Summit music convention for 2012. She’ll be participating in songwriting workshops, panels and industry networking experiences. This is a wonderful opportunity for Louise and Laneway and would not have been possible without the support from Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA) and Arts Queensland.

With love from Grandma’s Place

The new premises of Matt Redlich’s studios in Brisbane will be a space so may songs will be beautifully captured and released. It was a pleasure hovering in the halls and hearing the tales of the old timber sales yard that now houses that studio. Even more enjoyable was handing the new Laneway tunes over to the 2” tape last weekend. (And that is a mahogany bodied Martin guitar in the background behind Louise. Yes, indeed, it is.)

Winter Rain = New Clip

When some unseasonal weather blows in at Crawler Records HQ what better afternoon activity than making a film clip to the latest Laneway single release. There are many thanks involved here with special mention to the stunt actors, the amazing camera operator who we like to call Zippy, and of course, Mother Nature herself for providing the set and effects.  So here’s the results: The Turbine. Enjoy.

The Fingers Malone Ensemble ‘Home’ featuring Louise on voice

Fingers Malone, who plays drums on Laneway’s album and lastest single, has a whole bunch of excellent work worth checking out. The Fingers Malone Ensemble’s LP, Push is a wonderful collection of drum machines, synthesisers and old keyboards blended into fine hip hop stylings. This is a new clip for the song ‘Home’ that Louise sings on. The vocal was recorded in a wooden cottage by the beach one afternoon between a beer at sunset and the onset of noisy crickets whirring outside.

Fingers Malone is based in London presently and his live shows are well worth checking out.
